Hockey Coach Lorne Rappaport Trial And Sentence

Lorne Rappaport, a former hockey coach, was sentenced to nearly five years in jail for previous sexual offenses against a 15-year-old girl.

Following a case brought by the York Regional Police, the judge rendered this conclusion.

Rappaport was charged with two counts of sexual assault, sexual interference with a minor under the age of 16, and sexual exploitation in 2021.

These charges result from an investigation into serious accusations that the young victim was sexually assaulted while Rappaport was coaching competitive girls’ hockey in the Greater Toronto Area between 2009 and 2011.
