Sam Hunt Pleads Guilty to DUI Charges – Celeb Secrets Country
Daniel Rodriguez Sam Hunt has pleaded guilty to drinking and driving! The “Drinkin’ Too Much” singer went forward with a plea deal for his DUI case today (Aug.18).
Appearing before the Davidson County Circuit Court, Hunt pled guilty to two charges of DUI with a charge of open container violation being dropped. The Tennessean reports that the singer was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail but will only be doing a fraction of the sentenced time.
Hunt will be required to serve 48 hours at a DUI Education center. He will also be required to complete an alcohol safety course. Lastly, Hunt will have his license suspended for one year. Once his license is returned, Hunt will have an interlock installed in his car to test his breath alcohol concentration before operating the vehicle.
Although Hunt has not taken to social media to comment on today’s events, he did address his initial arrest back in 2019.
The Tennessean reports that Hunt was pulled over after driving the wrong way on Ellington Parkway at the time of his initial arrest. After a sobriety test was conducted, Hunt’s BAC returned back with the result that was more than double the legal limit at 0.173.
After being arrested for driving under the influence and violating open container law, Hunt apologized to Twitter for his actions.
