Rory McIlroy's wife, Eric Stoll, also has plenty of ties to the sport of golf. According to Golf Monthy, McIlroy actually met his bride while she was working at a PGA event. They had their first encounter in 2012 when McIlory overslept and was late for the Ryder Cup. Stoll helped get McIlroy to the course to avoid embarrassment (and the police escort also helped.) Stoll was born in Irondequoit, New York, and she attended West Irondequoit High School. After high school, she attended Rochester Institute of Technology. She has a small immediate family, which includes just one sibling, sister Natalie Stoll. McIlory has not been shy about singing his wife's praises and her tendency to stay away from the spotlight. "Erica has been around me quite a lot at tournaments, but we have really just tried to keep it low key," he told The Independent before their 2017 wedding. "She is a very low key person, not the kind to broadcast stuff, but that side of my life is really good just now. We are excited, our parents are excited so it is a really happy time."
