Ons was interviewed by Muscle and Fitness to talk about her thoughts on dealing with the pressure and how she trains for a sport that keeps her busy for 10 months out of the year.

Ons mentioned we don’t have much time to prepare the body, we often have a preparatory period of one and a half to two months of extremely intense activity. 

It’s a terrific opportunity to get your body ready for the entire season. She undertakes 10 days of pure exercise at the end of the year, generally in November or December.

She makes an effort to focus more on strength. 

She increases my tennis training as we approach the tournaments in January, and the fitness component gets more tailored to what she needs on the court, such as my particular motions.

She often trains for six to seven hours each day, five days per week. In order to give her body time to rest and prepare for the following week, she tries to take two days off in between, which are often Wednesday and Sunday. 

She aims to practice two hours of tennis and an hour and a half of exercise on match days before playing for around an hour the following day to get her body ready for the start of the competition.
