Steve Ford is an American reality Tv star and host. He is best known as the host of HGTV’s show called Restored by the Fords, Home Again with the Fords, and A Very Brady Renovation. He hosts the shows alongside his sister Leanne. Steve and his sister enliven older Pittsburgh-area homes with beautiful and unique custom designs in the two  HGTV’s more popular home renovation series.

Leanne is an interior designer, who first gained national attention when she restored and designed a turn-of-the-century schoolhouse in her hometown.  Her work has been featured in cuntless national publications such as Architectural Digest, The New York Times, and Martha Stewart, to name a few. Steve was born with a knack for creative carpentry, he is a licensed contractor who tackles unconventional construction challenges that bring his sister’s unique vision to life.

While Steve and his sister Leanne make a dynamic home improvement duo, they didn’t start working together until the HGTV show came along. Prior to, Steve was doing his own thing. The University of West Virginia graduate worked at the local resort. At the Seven Springs Mountain Resort, he was a safety ranger on ski patrol. After he returned to Pittsburgh,  Steve remodeled homes for a while. However, he then moved to Los Angeles to try out a little acting and surfing. Shortly after, he returned again to Pittsburgh to operate a surfer chic clothing boutique for a decade.

At the same time, Steve created visual designs for retailers such as American Eagle Outfitters, ModCloth, and rue21. His sister Leanne was thriving in the fields of fashion and PR, which took her to multiple cities. However, she bought a century-old schoolhouse and renovated it with help from Steve after she finally returned to Pittsburgh. HGTV had scouted Leanne and her ex-husband before, but they found Chip and Joanna Gaines instead when Leanne’s ex-husband showed no interest in being on television.

Leanne threw out a feeler that she and her brother Steve had cooperated on several projects together. They upgraded their skills over the course of a year and worked on a number of projects. That included the schoolhouse renovation. The DIY home reno project brought HGTV right to their doorstep. He would then play the reliable contractor to interior designer Leanne on Restored by the Fords. Also, they released a design book titled Work in Progress, in 2019, for the fans of their show and those looking for some inspiration. The book details the siblings’ journeys from different ventures to home improvement.
